The Mouse and the Lost Tooth

The Mouse and the Lost Tooth đŸŠ·

*Reading: 2 minutes

Once upon a time, there was a little mouse who lived in a cozy burrow beneath an old house filled with books and antique toys. But he wasn’t just any ordinary mouse: he had a very special job. Every night, when everyone was asleep, he would venture out with his little magical pouch to search for lost baby teeth under children’s pillows.

But this job wasn’t just for fun. The Mouse knew how important it was to reward children for being brave when they lost their first teeth. In exchange for each tooth, he left a shiny coin or a surprise treat. The collected teeth were taken to his secret workshop, where he used them to create amazing things, like necklaces of teeth that glowed like stars or tiny crowns that decorated his home.

One night, as he walked through the quiet streets of the city, the Mouse heard a faint sob coming from a slightly open window. He crept closer and saw a girl named Virginia, who was still awake. She held a tooth in her hand and tears in her eyes.

“Why are you crying, little one?” asked the Mouse in his soft little voice.

Virginia was surprised to see the little mouse but responded:

“My tooth fell out today, and although I’m excited, I’m also scared that something might go wrong. What if no one comes for it?”

The Mouse smiled and said:

“Don’t be afraid, Virginia. You’re very brave for taking such good care of your tooth. And remember, there will always be someone to reward you for it.”

With those words, the Mouse slipped a shiny golden coin under Virginia’s pillow and gently took the tooth. But before leaving, he decided to do something special. From his pouch, he pulled out a small gift: a tiny compass made from an ancient tooth.

“This is for you,” he said. “If you ever feel lost or scared, this compass will remind you that there’s always a way forward.”

Virginia smiled happily and hugged the little mouse before falling fast asleep.

Back in his workshop, the Mouse placed Virginia’s tooth alongside others in his collection. As he worked, he thought about how many children like her had trusted him over the years. He realized that his mission wasn’t just about collecting teeth—it was also about helping children feel brave and special.

From that night on, every time he went to collect a tooth, he remembered Virginia’s smile and how his small gesture had made a big difference. And so, night after night, the Mouse continued his work, bringing magic and joy to the hearts of children, one by one.
