The Storytelling Tree 🌳

*Reading Time: 3 minutes

On the outskirts of the small village of Happy Valley, there stood a huge and majestic tree that everyone called the “Storytelling Tree.” Its branches were long and thick, its leaves shimmered like stars under the moonlight, and if you sat very still beside it, you could hear a soft murmur, as if the tree were whispering secret stories.

Dora was an eight-year-old curious girl who loved to explore. She enjoyed going to the forest to search for rare flowers and listen to the sounds of animals. But what she loved most was visiting the Storytelling Tree. Every afternoon, she would sit beneath its branches with her notebook and pencil to draw while carefully listening to the murmurs. Sometimes, she swore she could hear laughter, adventures, and even ancient songs coming from the leaves.

One special night, Dora decided to stay a little longer under the tree. Her mother had told her not to linger too long, but Dora wanted to hear a complete story before heading back. She nestled between the tree’s roots, closed her eyes, and let the murmurs envelop her. Without realizing it, she fell asleep.

When she opened her eyes, something had changed. She was no longer in the forest. She was in a strange and magical place. There was a castle made of clouds, a river that sang, and talking animals everywhere. A fox with golden spots approached her and said:

“Welcome! You are the first person to come here from the real world. The Storytelling Tree brought you here because it wants to teach you something important.”

Dora looked around, amazed. Everything seemed like it came straight out of one of her favorite stories.

“What do I need to learn?” she asked excitedly.

The fox smiled and replied:

“You’ll discover that on your own. Follow me.”

Together, they began walking along a path filled with glowing flowers. Soon, they reached a hanging bridge over the singing river. On the other side, they saw a white rabbit trying to cross but too afraid to do so.

“I have to deliver this message to the castle, but I can’t get across,” said the rabbit in a trembling voice.

Dora remembered what her father always told her: “Courage isn’t the absence of fear, but doing the right thing even when you’re scared.” So she took the rabbit’s paw and helped it cross the bridge. When they reached the other side, the rabbit smiled and said:

“Thank you, Dora. You’ve been very brave.”

After that, they continued walking until they reached a clearing where a group of squirrels was arguing. They all seemed very upset with each other.

“We found these acorns first!” shouted one squirrel.

“But we need more for our family!” another responded.

Dora thought about how to solve the problem. She remembered that at home, they always shared what they had when someone needed it. So she suggested:

“Why don’t you divide the acorns equally? That way, everyone will have enough.”

The squirrels looked at her in surprise, but then they did as Dora suggested. Immediately, they started laughing and playing together as if they’d never fought.

Finally, Dora and the fox arrived at the cloud castle. There, an old woman with silver hair and bright eyes was waiting for them.

“You’ve learned well, Dora,” said the woman. “Kindness, courage, and friendship are treasures we all carry within us. Now it’s time for you to return to your world.”

Before Dora could ask anything else, everything became blurry. When she opened her eyes again, she was back under the Storytelling Tree. It was morning, and the sun’s rays filtered through the leaves, illuminating her notebook.

When she opened it, Dora found new drawings she didn’t remember making: the rabbit crossing the bridge, the squirrels sharing acorns, and the cloud castle. There was also a phrase written in large letters: “Everyone has a story to tell.”

From that day on, Dora knew that every person, animal, and even trees held important stories. She began to listen more to others and share her own experiences. And whenever someone needed help or advice, she remembered the lessons she had learned in the magical world of the Storytelling Tree.

And so, Dora grew up knowing that although stories may be different, they all have something in common: they teach us who we are and how we can become better.

End. 🌳
