A long, long time ago, in a valley full of colorful flowers and tall trees, there lived a little dinosaur named Tito. Tito was a green dinosaur, about the size of a big dog, with large, curious eyes. Although he was small for a dinosaur, he had a big heart and was always looking for new adventures.
One sunny morning, while exploring the forest, Tito smelled something sweet and delicious. He followed the scent until he reached a very tall tree. There, among the branches, was a beehive full of golden honey that sparkled under the sun.
“How delicious it smells!” said Tito, licking his lips. “Surely that honey is the most delicious in the world.”
But when Tito tried to get closer, the bees began buzzing around the hive, as if they were protecting it.
“I don’t want to hurt you!” shouted Tito, taking a step back. “I just want a little bit of honey.”
The bees didn’t seem to believe him. They buzzed louder, and Tito decided it would be best to back away for now. But he couldn’t stop thinking about how delicious that honey looked. So he decided to find a way to get his treasure without bothering the bees.
First, he thought about climbing the tree, but his little legs were too short, and the trunk was too slippery. Then, he tried using a long branch to reach the hive, but the branch was heavy, and the hive was too high.
As he was thinking about what to do, Tito met a small squirrel named Nita. Nita was quick and agile, always jumping from branch to branch collecting nuts.
“Hi, Tito,” said Nita, seeing the dinosaur looking up at the tree. “What are you doing?”
“I want to taste the honey from that hive, but the bees won’t let me get close,” replied Tito, sadly.
Nita smiled and said:
“Maybe you can talk to the bees. If you explain that you don’t want to hurt them, maybe they’ll help.”
Tito thought it was a good idea. The next day, he brought a large, colorful flower as a peace offering. He slowly approached the tree and called to the bees in a soft voice:
“Hello, bee friends. I don’t want to bother you or take all your honey. I just wanted to try a little bit because it smells so delicious. I brought this flower as a gift.”
The bees stopped buzzing so loudly and looked at the flower. One of them, the biggest and shiniest, flew toward Tito and said:
“We like your gift, little dinosaur. But you must know that honey is very special to us. We work hard to make it.”
Tito nodded seriously.
“I understand. I promise not to take much. Just a little bit to try.”
The bees gathered to talk among themselves, and after a few minutes, the leader bee returned.
“All right, Tito. You can try some honey, but only if you promise to take care of our hive and help protect it when necessary.”
Tito smiled happily.
“I promise!”
With the help of Nita, who climbed the tree and brought down a small piece of the hive, Tito tasted the honey. It was the most delicious thing he had ever eaten in his life.
From then on, Tito and the bees became friends. The little dinosaur learned a lot about how the bees worked together to make honey and how they took care of their home. In return, Tito helped scare away other animals that tried to steal the hive.
That’s how Tito discovered that, with patience and friendship, he could get what he wanted without hurting anyone. And every time he tasted a little bit of honey, he remembered how important it was to share and take care of what others had worked so hard to create.
End. 🍯🦖
