In a small pond surrounded by reeds and wildflowers, there lived a little fish named Beto. Although he was happy swimming among the floating leaves and playing with tadpoles, he always dreamed of something bigger: to know the sea.
“The sea must be huge and blue, full of colorful fish and magical currents,” Beto would say as he gazed toward the stream that flowed out of the pond. “Someday I’ll go there.”
One sunny day, after much thought, Beto decided to follow the stream. With an excited splash, he began his adventure.
He hadn’t swum far when a frog named Lila saw him pass by.
“Hi, little fish! Where are you going so fast?” asked the frog from atop a rock.
“I’m going to the sea,” Beto replied proudly. “Do you know where it is?”
Lila chuckled softly.
“It’s a long way, but I can help you cross this part. Hop on my back.”
Beto happily accepted. Lila carried him through a stretch full of slippery stones until they reached a deeper area. There, a group of ducks was swimming peacefully.
“What’s a little fish doing so far from home?” one of the ducks asked.
“I’m looking for the sea,” said Beto. “Can you help me?”
The ducks nodded.
“Of course, we know the way well. Follow us.”
The ducks guided Beto along a wider river where the waters ran swiftly. Along the way, Beto met a shiny dragonfly fluttering above the water.
“Hey, you, the traveling fish! Why are you in such a hurry?” asked the dragonfly.
“I’m searching for the sea,” Beto replied. “I want to see it before sunset.”
The dragonfly smiled.
“I can show you shortcuts. Follow me!”
With the dragonfly’s help, Beto avoided dangerous currents and found calm paths. Along the way, he learned many new things: how to dodge fallen branches, recognize the prettiest aquatic plants, and listen to the stories told by the river animals.
Finally, after a long day of adventures, Beto arrived at a place where the water stretched so far that he couldn’t see the end. It was the sea. Its waves sparkled under the sun, and fish of every color swam in its depths.
“I did it!” Beto shouted excitedly. But soon he realized something important. The sea was beautiful, but what truly made him happy were the laughs shared with Lila, the advice from the ducks, and the playful loops of the dragonfly.
As he gazed at the waves, Beto thought:
“This journey taught me that it’s not so much about arriving, but everything you learn and the friends you make along the way.”
He decided to stay a while at the sea to explore it, but he knew that someday he would return to the pond to tell all his friends about his experiences. For now, he was ready to enjoy his dream come true, accompanied by the memories of his great adventure.
And so, Beto understood that the world is full of wonders, but the best experiences are always made of friendship and discoveries.
