Deep within a jungle filled with towering trees and sparkling rivers, there lived a giraffe named Lila. She was very tall and could always see beyond the treetops. One day, while distractedly walking in search of fresh leaves to eat, she wandered too far from her group. When she tried to return, she no longer knew which way she had come from.
“Oh no!” said Lila sadly. “I’m lost!”
She looked around, but everything seemed different. The trees were bigger, the river sounded louder, and she couldn’t see any of her giraffe friends. She began to walk slowly, hoping to find something familiar.
Meanwhile, in a nearby small village, two siblings lived: Maya and Leo. They were curious and always explored the forest’s surroundings. That morning, they decided to venture a little deeper into the jungle to look for wild fruits.
Suddenly, they heard a strange noise coming from the bushes. They approached carefully and saw something incredible: a giraffe looking around as if searching for something!
“Hello,” said Maya, approaching slowly. “Are you lost?”
Lila lowered her long neck and replied:
“Yes… I can’t find my group. I was eating leaves, and when I wanted to go back, I didn’t know where I was.”
Leo smiled and said:
“Don’t worry, we’ll help you. We know this jungle well.”
Just then, three zebras grazing nearby appeared. Seeing Lila, they trotted over.
“What’s going on here?” asked one of the zebras.
“This giraffe is lost,” explained Maya. “Have you seen other giraffes around here?”
The zebras thought for a moment and then said:
“We think we saw a group of giraffes drinking water at the big river a few hours ago. We can take you there.”
Everyone agreed, and they started walking together. The zebras went ahead, clearing the path, while Maya, Leo, and Lila followed. Along the way, Lila told stories about how she could see things from very far away thanks to her long neck, and the children laughed excitedly.
After a while, they reached the big river. In the distance, several giraffes could be seen eating leaves from tall trees. Lila jumped for joy.
“It’s them! It’s my group!” she exclaimed.
She ran as fast as she could, swinging her long neck from side to side. When she arrived, all the giraffes greeted her warmly.
“Lila! We thought you were gone forever!” they said.
From a distance, Maya, Leo, and the zebras watched happily.
“Thank you for helping me!” shouted Lila before saying goodbye.
Maya and Leo returned to the village happy, knowing they had done a good deed. And although they never forgot Lila, they always knew that the jungle was full of friends ready to help whenever someone needed it.
End. 🦒
