I Don’t Want to Go to School

I Don’t Want to Go to School 📘

*Reading: 3 minutes

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Ana, who was eight years old and didn’t want to go to school. Every morning, when her mom woke her up early, Ana would hide under the covers and say:
— I don’t want to get up! School is boring, and it’s so cold in the mornings.

Her mom always replied:
— Ana, at school you can learn wonderful things. You just have to give it a chance.

But Ana wasn’t convinced. To her, the classes were long, numbers didn’t talk, and letters didn’t dance the way she imagined they should.

One night, while she was sleeping deeply, Ana had a very curious dream. In her dream, she heard a soft voice saying:
— Ana, wake up. Come with me.

She opened her eyes and saw a small glowing elf floating next to her bed. He carried books in his backpack and had big, friendly eyes.
— Who are you? — asked Ana, surprised.

— I’m the Book Elf, and I’ve come to show you something special. Do you want to come?

Ana nodded excitedly, and before she knew it, she was flying on the elf’s shoulders to a magical place. When they arrived, they saw a familiar building. It was… the school! But this school was different. The walls sparkled like stars, and the windows sang soft songs.

— Welcome to the Enchanted School — said the elf. — Here, everything you learn comes to life.

They entered the classroom, where numbers jumped and played on the blackboard.
— Look at this! — said the number 5, splitting into two halves that turned into two small numbers, 2 and 1.

Ana smiled. She had never seen numbers so fun. Then, the alphabet letters began to dance and formed words that turned into animals. A “G” joined with an “A,” a “T,” and an “O,” and suddenly a cat appeared, meowing and purring happily.

— Would you like to try creating something yourself? — asked the elf.

Ana nodded and began playing with the letters and numbers. She created words that transformed into flowers, birds, and even a small spaceship that flew around the room.

Next, they went to the playground, where planets slowly spun in the sky and children painted with colors that came to life. A boy drew a sun, and it began to shine; another painted a tree, and the leaves moved with the wind.

— This school is incredible — said Ana, excited. — Why isn’t my school like this?

The elf smiled and replied:
— Your school can be just as magical if you use your imagination. It all depends on how you see it. Even the simplest things can become adventures if you give them a chance.

Suddenly, Ana felt someone calling her. She opened her eyes and saw her mom standing next to her bed.
— It’s time to get up for school!

Ana looked out the window and sighed, but this time she thought about her dream. She remembered the elf’s words and decided to give school a try.

When she got to school, although the walls didn’t sparkle and the letters didn’t dance, Ana started imagining how she could make her day more fun. During math class, she saw numbers as friends playing together. In art class, her drawings came to life in her mind. And during recess, she made new friends by telling them stories about her adventure at the Enchanted School.

From that day on, Ana didn’t complain as much about getting up early or going to school. She had discovered that, with a little imagination, any place could be magical.

End. 📘
